Client was looking to upgrade their Oracle EBS environment. Their EBS environment was running on old hardware. To keep up with growth and performance requirements, it was recommended to migrate their hardware platform to new Linux hardware. Since the client is a global company and couldn’t afford a longer downtime, the Upgrade and Platform migration required to be completed in a single short maintenance window.
Our Solution
Buxton team of DBAs migrated client Oracle EBS environment to new platform, upgraded Oracle database from 9i to 11g, and upgraded Oracle EBS environment from 11.5.9 to 12.1.3 using Buxton proprietary tools in a record time. Buxton also was responsible for upgrading Discoverer from 4i to 10g. Buxton helped tune several poorly performing custom programs. This project was executed with combination of onshore and offshore resources
Business Impact
The traditional method of platform migration would have taken several days to migrate. With Buxton’s innovative custom solution, Database and Application was migrated to Linux server in a record time. Buxton completed the DB and Application upgrade along with platform migration with single short downtime window.
