Client wanted to move their Email hosting infrastructure to a public cloud from their private data centers in order to improve operational efficiencies and reduce the cost. This included migration of 250+ billion small files, very large MS SQL Databases (100sTB) and 1000s of servers. There were no tools available in the industry which could migrate large MS SQL databases, 100s of billion small files, with a minimum disruption to the customers and without any data loss. This was getting very complex for them.
Our Solution
Buxton’s team worked with client’s tools and with the help of their cloud provider, developed a custom tool that helped us migrate large databases and millions of application files with a minimum downtime. Solution also included reconciliation of data. This was never done anywhere in history.
Business Impact
Buxton was able to migrate email hosting application and its corresponding infrastructure with minimal down time. Customer enjoyed no data loss, better security and better system performance.
