Largest Oracle NetSuite Implementation
Buxton assumed program leadership responsibilities after the project was underway. Working closely with the client, we achieved program milestones and facilitated a successful go-live.
Client Profile
Industry: High Technology
Location: Silicon Valley, CA
Specialty: Mobile Computing and Communications
Challenges
The Client was in the process of a global business transformation effort to streamline and standardize its processes, while also reducing its IT footprint. They had already spent over two years attempting to implement NetSuite applications with other system integration partners. However, after missing multiple go-live dates and receiving poor-quality deliverables, the client knew they needed a change. Based on the CIO’s and VP/Application’s prior experience with Buxton, they turned to us to take over the project, which was successfully delivered in July 2023.
Our Solution
By working closely with the client, Buxton deployed a team with deep NetSuite experience and strong program management skills. A more rigorous PMO structure was instituted which focused on accountability and issue resolution, along with setting an aggressive yet achievable timeline. Key components of the solution were re-designed and developed, resolving critical issues that were preventing progress, thereby allowing successful user acceptance testing where over 1,000 scenarios were tested with zero defects. Buxton also managed all aspects of deploying the system facilitating and on-time delivery with minimal issues. Long-term managed services resources were deployed which provided a smooth transition to steady state maintenance.
Business Impact
By establishing strong program management processes and using a combination of on-shore and off-shore resources, the Buxton team was able to reduce the time, effort, and budget for going live with the new solution. In addition to the initial go-live, the Client was able to significantly reduce the time and effort to merge their European operations onto the solution in a subsequent project.
