About the RoleBuxton Consulting is seeking a seasoned PeopleSoft Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in migrating PeopleSoft Human Resources (HR) applications across cloud infrastructures. This role is critical to a high-impact modernization initiative involving infrastructure replatforming, performance optimization, and compliance alignment for California government clients.Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute the end-to-end migration of PeopleSoft HR applications from one cloud platform to another (e.g., AWS to OCI, Azure to GCP, etc.)
- Perform database cloning, backup/restore, and environment refreshes across dev, test, and prod tiers
- Optimize Oracle database performance, indexing, and tuning for PeopleSoft environments
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to configure networking, load balancing, and security policies in the target cloud
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and rollback strategies during migration
- Support patching, upgrades, and PeopleTools version alignment
- Document migration steps, configurations, and post-migration validation procedures
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of experience as a PeopleSoft DBA, with at least 2 successful cloud migration projects
- Deep expertise in Oracle RDBMS, PeopleSoft HR modules, and PeopleTools architecture
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, OCI, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and backup strategies in cloud environments
- Ability to work independently and interface with technical and executive stakeholders
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred Skills- Experience with OCI Government Cloud
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for PeopleSoft deployments
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization and licensing models
