Challenges
Client acquired a part of a company and needed to migrate their legacy Oracle EBS database and Application infrastructure to their on-premise data center and other applications to AWS cloud. The client faced numerous challenges with migration (e.g., application errors, performance, and long migration times). Client was unable to migrate the system since there was no Oracle Product Support available.
Our Solution
Buxton implemented platform migration techniques for OS, applications and database. We used VMWare and Oracle tools to migrate the environment with minimum downtime. Also, moved other applications to AWS cloud. Setup Integration between Oracle database and Postgres database running in AWS Cloud. Replaced insecure FTP solution with secure MS SharePoint. Currently providing managed services including infrastructure, database and application support
Business Impact
Delivered a high performing, stable, secure, and license-compliant environment with less than 6 hours downtime. Client is enjoying up to 10 times performance improvement with no data or application functionality loss. Client has not experienced any unscheduled outages since Buxton has taken over the managed services of their systems.
