Job description:
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our Personalized Content Discovery team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in data exploration, data storytelling, and basic data engineering. Our data science team works on research and development for several TiVo products:
• Search and Recommendation (Video/Music Content Recommendation System),
• Insight (Data Analytics)
• Conversation (Voice Entertainment Assistant)
• Video and Music Metadata (Textual, Image, Quantitative)
On our team you can expect to work with a variety of data sources and customer solutions across the entertainment and product engineering domain. Our mission is to help our customers find, watch, and enjoy their favorite content.
Responsibilities
• Analyze and interpret large, multi-dimensional datasets
• Work closely with product engineering and management teams to identify and answer important product questions
• Communicate findings to product managers and engineers
• Create data visualizations that capture core insight from analysis in dashboards and reports
• Refine existing data sources for use in downstream applications
• Learn to implement best practices for data gathering, and process versioning
Requirements
• B.S. in a relevant technical field or demonstrable equivalent
• Ability to apply ETL processes for use in R&D projects
• Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Ability to document processes for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with relational databases - SQL
• Proficiency with the python data science programming stack
